Before Your Appointment

We’re looking forward to supporting you at Be Kind Psychology.

To help you prepare for your upcoming autism assessment, please read the information below carefully. This will help ensure everything runs smoothly and that you get the most out of the process.

βœ… 1. Complete the Consent Form

Before we begin, we require your consent to proceed with the assessment. This includes consent for:

  • Use of structured diagnostic tools

  • Storage of personal and clinical information

  • Video recording of the ADOS-2 (if applicable)

Please complete the relevant background and consent form at least 48 hours before your first appointment:

πŸ“ 2. Submit Relevant Reports or Documentation

If you have any prior documentation that may support the assessment, please share it in advance or bring it with you on the day. Relevant documents may include:

  • School or preschool reports

  • Previous psychological, SLT, or medical assessments

  • Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCPs, or SEN documentation

We’ll provide a secure link for uploading files, or you can bring hard copies to your in-person session.

🧠 3. What to Expect

The assessment process may include:

  • A parent/carer interview (structured developmental history)

  • Standardised diagnostic tools (e.g., ADI-R, ADOS-2)

  • Play-based or observational assessment

  • Cognitive or developmental testing (if clinically indicated)

  • Questionnaires for parents and/or teachers

  • A feedback session (online or by phone)

All assessments are conducted by a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and follow a neuroaffirmative, evidence-based approach. Reports are accepted by the HSE and Department of Education.

⏳ 4. Timing & Report Delivery

Assessments are typically completed across several sessions. The final written report is issued within 2–3 weeks of your final appointment.

If you require the report by a specific date (e.g. for school applications), please let us know in advance.

πŸ’³ 5. Payment & Booking

Full payment is required to confirm your assessment schedule. You can choose to:

  • Pay in full online (via card, Apple Pay, or Klarna – 3 interest-free instalments)

  • Request a manual split-payment option via invoice (50% upfront, 50% due before report release)
