Payments & Booking Information

At Be Kind Psychology, we understand that accessing a high-quality assessment is a significant commitment — emotionally, practically, and financially. We aim to offer clear and flexible payment options to help you access care at a pace that works for your family.

💳 Payment Options

1. Pay in Full at Booking (via Website)
You can choose to pay in full at the time of booking using a debit/credit card or Apple Pay. This will confirm and secure your assessment appointments immediately.

2. Klarna – Pay in 3 Instalments
We offer Klarna at checkout to help spread the cost of your assessment over time:

  • Split into 3 interest-free payments

  • First instalment paid at checkout

  • Remaining payments collected automatically after 30 and 60 days

  • No fees or interest (subject to Klarna’s eligibility criteria)

Klarna performs a soft credit check, and approval is subject to their terms and conditions.

3. Manual Split-Payment by Invoice
If you prefer, we can arrange a manual payment plan:

  • A 50% deposit is required upfront to secure your assessment appointments

  • The remaining 50% is due before the feedback session and release of your report

  • Payment is made via bank transfer (invoice and account details provided)

We are happy to spread assessment appointments over time if needed. Please note that reports will only be released once the full balance has been paid.

💶 Tax Relief and Health Insurance

You may be able to reclaim part of the cost of your assessment through:

1. Tax Relief (Revenue Med 1):
Psychological assessments conducted by a Chartered Clinical Psychologist may qualify as a medical expense under the Med 1 scheme. You can apply for tax relief through Revenue (ROS/myAccount) using your receipt or invoice.

2. Private Health Insurance (policy-dependent):
Some private health insurers (e.g. Irish Life, VHI, Laya) may offer partial reimbursement for assessments carried out by a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. Coverage varies, so please check directly with your provider.

We are happy to provide any documentation needed to support your claim.

🧾 Additional Financial Supports for Families

We recognise that the cost of assessment can be a significant burden for some families. In certain cases, you may be eligible to apply for additional financial supports, including:

1. Exceptional Needs Payment (via Department of Social Protection)
Families experiencing financial hardship may apply for an Exceptional Needs Payment from their local Intreo office to help with the cost of a medically recommended assessment. You will typically need a referral letter from your GP or another health professional, and a copy of the invoice.

2. Disability Allowance / Carer's Allowance (Post-Diagnosis)
Following diagnosis, some children may meet criteria for Disability Allowance (under 16) or Carer’s Allowance (for parents/guardians), depending on the level of need. While this does not cover the assessment itself, a report from a Chartered Clinical Psychologist is often required to support applications.

3. Domiciliary Care Allowance (DCA)
If your child has a significant ongoing need for care and supervision, you may be eligible for Domiciliary Care Allowance, which is not means-tested and is available regardless of diagnosis. Our reports are often used as supporting evidence for this application.

❌ Cancellations and Refunds

If you need to cancel before any part of the assessment has taken place, a refund can be arranged. However, once any component (e.g., intake or testing session) has been completed, fees are no longer refundable.

We understand that circumstances can change, and we are happy to discuss individual situations with care and flexibility.
