Educational Assessments
Helping families understand how a child learns - and how best to support them
At Be Kind Psychology, we offer comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents who may be experiencing learning challenges, uneven academic progress, or underachievement despite effort. These assessments help to clarify a young personβs learning profile, cognitive strengths, and academic needs in a practical, compassionate, and neuroaffirmative way.
Our educational assessments evaluate for a range of learning differences, including:
Dyslexia (specific difficulties with reading and spelling)
Dyscalculia (persistent challenges with numeracy and number sense)
Broader learning differences impacting literacy, numeracy, or writing
π Each psychoeducational assessment includes:
Review of parent background form and developmental history
Review of school reports and any relevant professional documentation

π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Who should consider a psychoeducational assessment?
This type of assessment may be beneficial when a child or teen:
Is struggling with literacy, numeracy, or written expression
Is not progressing as expected despite effort and school support
Shows signs of dyslexia, dyscalculia, or another specific learning difficulty (SLD)
Requires formal documentation for school accommodations or SEN support
Would benefit from understanding their own learning style and academic potential
Our assessments are strengths-based, child-centred, and designed to empower both families and educators with clear, practical guidance. We aim to support every young person to thrive β in their own way, and at their own pace.
